I love buying fresh flowers to display in my home year round, but I don't love having to toss them out. Here's a project that will stretch your flower budget further with more instructions and a video on my blog at Shabbyfufu
I purchase eucalyptus at the local florist or grocery store because it's a great filler for arrangements and I love the fresh scent. It also retains it's scent for a long time after you might toss the rest of your arrangements out, so here's an idea to use this instead.
Save and dry your roses and other flowers from time to time. I've shown you several dried flower posts on Hometalk so take a look at my profile! You'll be using these in today's project.
I decided to create a fireplace mantel garland for spring and started by draping the eucalyptus lengthwise across. Make it full and interesting with some of the pieces hanging over the sides and some giving your arrangement height.
No pins or glue needed, just cut the rosebuds from the long stems as needed and gently place into the eucalyptus for color.
Take some ribbon and twirl it into the mantel garland for interest. For more details, see my blog linked below and have fun with this project!
