Use a screwdriver to start, to pull up the carpet. Don't try to pull it up I large pieces. Cut the rug with metal shears. You'll need to get rid of the wood tacking. You can pry this up with a screwdriver with something to pry the wooden tract up.

Just get a pair of pliers and find a corner and start pulling. Generally when you get one up-the rest is easy.
