Can you Engrave a Tempered Glass table top?

I have an Oval shaped table top I was going to engrave,and was worried it Might shatter as it is glass that has been tinted and it is like auto glass that has been Tempered.I know I can acid etch it with no problems but what are the odds of it breaking engraving it?

Try chemically engraving. You can purchase the product needed at places like Pat Catans, Michaels, or Joanns.
That would shatter I believe, but call a glass company to make sure.
Armour etch might do it. Says does not work on some pyrex and not intended to etch large solid areas. Isn't the glass in most entry doors tempered anymore? Think it will work if not covering whole table with 1 solid etching.
Knew someone who engraved using a dremel on auto windows. Actually looked good.
