The Black Eyed Susan (Rudbeckia Hirta)
this is why I plant Black eyed Susans all around my yard and every spring give away many new plants to friends. This native beauty is sure to please the birds and butterflies and keep blooming throughout the hot summer months. Goldfinches return every year to one of the patches by my mailbox. this flower will grow in full sun and even part sun and will give you many months and years of long lasting blooms!

I planted some black eyed Susans this year and keeping my fingers crossed because I did it late. Some in containers have come out. I too have lost several pants in one of my flower beds because the cats like to rub in them, maybe trying to mask their scent. Love and hate them too.

@Liliana Wells I planted some seeds this spring so I have babies all around the yard but next year they should be bigger and better. for the cats may I suggest putting catmint or catnip in a pot for them (do not plant in ground it will take over). good luck
