you can spray paint therewith Rustoelum 2X for metal
I've been amazed at some of the things I've seen on this site. There are several ideas that are terrific. If you haven't checked it out then do so. You might find a perfect fit right here.
If you like the look of Hammered metal it is avaliable in many colors and very easy to spray paint thry turn out very nice. Check them out at any hardware store or craft shop. Have fun,
When you have recoloured or altered them you can make a beautiful table lamp from them using a kit available in most DIY stores. Check to see how it is put together as some have a metal tube running through them and the electrical cable can be fed down through it to keep it much neater. You then need to drill a hole in the plinth at the bottom to feed the cable through. Warning - you can get addicted to his idea as wine bottles, decorative spirits bottles, drift wood, etc can all become lamps using this technique.
Spray paint a flat black or any one of the metallic spray paint colors that fit your decor.
