Start seeds 6-8 weeks before your last frost date indoors for best results. March is the perfect time to get those tomato and pepper seeds started indoors ready for an early spring planting! Also a great time to start planting those cool weather vegetables that can withstand those last frost days of March and April.

Hi, Dallas, Ga! I’m from Cartersville, now living near Dallas, TX. My Mamaw used the Old Farmers Almanac and the moon for her North Georgia gardens. She said to: Plant things that grow under the ground, like potatoes, carrots and onions, in Feb. and March, as long as the ground is not frozen. Also plant strawberries. Plant beans on Good Friday, then anything that grows on a stake, pole or cage within a week. A month after Easter, plant things that need hot weather, like corn, okra, and watermelon. Plant tomatoes from sets at various times according to their type. You should be able to grow about anything in Dallas. Best wishes ☺️
Almost all states have a Master Gardeners Association and classes you can take. It looks like the University of Georgia is where yours is out of. This is for publications you can check on for gardening and more.

Mamaw is your grandmother. It rhymes with Papaw (pow-paw). Most kids say Mawmaw and pawpaw these days, or other names, of course. Makin’ me hungry for corn bread and black eyed peas. And maters, taters, and fried okra. And pan fried cubed steak and chicken and dumplings. Oh oh, here comes the fried corn, green Lima’s, butter beans, stewed tomatoes. May as well throw down some cat’s head biscuits with sorghum syrup (surp). I’m gaining a pound, just writing it down. ☺️
Stop it y'all! You're making me homesick!
