Clean top to bottom. Declutter & Pick up and put away anything that isn't in regular use. Dust, clean counters, vacuum/sweep/mop. Clean out all trash receptacles. Clean appliances. As the old saying goes: Less is More. Then, make a schedule to do at least 1 item per day or every other day, and you will find it's not so exhausting having to cram everything into a quick fix.
A great example is: Clean 1 shelf of your fridge a day until it is clean, no need to do the entire fridge at once.
Play some upbeat music to get your mood into it, no tv, because you will want to see what's going on and you'll become more interested in the tv program than cleaning.

Remove everything from the public rooms that don't belong. One method is to place the items in a laundry basket so you can return them to their "home". Next, declutter all horizontal surfaces. Empty the wastebaskets. Dust and then vacuum. Do a quick clean on the bathroom. Address any dishes in the kitchen. Wipe down the counters and table. Sweep the kitchen and bathroom floors. If you have time, make your beds, pick up any clutter or laundry. You should stand back and be amazed at how it looks!

Teach people to put things back where they belong and how to do their own laundry and load the dishwasher as they finish what they used that's for the future. In the meantime, grab everyone and get them to help. Even the young ones can help pick up toys. If you are blitz cleaning for company just do public rooms. No one needs to or should go into your bedrooms. If you have a family room open to the kitchen people usually gather there so focus on cleaning that well as for the living room and dining room don't worry they don't get used as much a quick wipe and light vacuum. Make sure you get powder room and that it is stocked with the essentials, no one looks in your fridge so do that on another day just focus on where your company hangs out. So clean counter tops, stove top (which you should wipe down daily) floors, stock paper towels and napkins. Family room dust, and address floor according to what you have either sweep and mop or vacuum. Fluff up sofa cushions and pillows. The next day start the real cleaning so that your not caught in a mess the next time. Relax life is short.

Pick up and put away is the first step, then clean from top, cobwebs, door frames, picture frames etc, then dust and wipe off everything. Everything falls to the floor so the last step is cleaning the floor and vacuum the carpet. You will be surprised once you pick everything up and put it in it's place how much cleaner everything will look. Don't get stuck in one room and try to completely redo everything. Just the basics for a blitz! Then once that's all done you can deep clean each room separately.
