Go to your local Lowe's , Home Depot, Menards and check out the different wainscoting they have. You can also use beadboard.
Check out Pinterest. Board and batten, beadboard, paint and a chair rail, wall paper, stenciling, tin. There are all sorts of ideas for all sorts of budgets!
Wainscotting can be done in such a variety of ways, it's really up to you how you want to decorate. I've seen it done just by using paint, maybe dark below a trim board and that's it. Then others have wallpapered, or placed beadboard below a trim board. Just whatever look you like. I would search on-line for various sites and "window shop" to see the look you are most drawn to. Good Luck. The sky's the limit. Maybe you'll come up with a brand new idea that will start a trend. Please post what you've done.
