Tips on blending textured ceiling patch?

    I use a 1" paint brush and no shrink drywall patching compound. Dip the brush in the compound about 1/4 way then stipple the ceiling.

    impossible always look like a patch scrape the rest of the ceiling

    It's not impossible. I've done it successfully where you can't even tell where the patch was. First identify your finish. Is orange peel, knock down, etc. For some of these finishes they sell aerosol cans of the texture you need. Then practice on a board a little to get down the technique to match your texture. After texture, let it dry, prime and paint.

      Yes, take a picture. We might be able to id it on here. Also, I failed to mention that you will need to feather the texture into the old. So you gradually get less texture as you cross over areas of existing texture. Your final area will be much bigger than your repair

    Your welcome. I found it's easier to control the texture using the paint brush than an large sponge.
