Tomato Plant Question

The last few years my tomato plants haven't produced many tomatoes.
The plants themselves are great, but they just don't bear fruit like they used to...
Thinking I need to amend the soil, so looking for some advice. We live in northeast Illinois.

have you moved them?try a new spot.also compost and water reg.
Have you tried ground egg shells or perhaps powered milk in the holes? They need a lot of calcium. I also add coffee grounds and worm casings.

Hi Denice. Make sure you are rotating where you plant your tomatoes in the garden every year. Every spring I add compost, cow manure, and peat moss to my soil. I then till it in. When I plant the plants I also add a little tomato tone to the soil where I am planting the plants. I wish you luck!
Tomatoes need lots of sun, water, and fertilizer. Put them in a different place in the garden - rotate the crops.
Lots of sun, water and the right kind of fertilizer. Don't use the same fertilizer you use on annuals and perennials, it will generate more leaves than anything else. Try putting some Epsom salts in the soil when planting and watering. Keep pinching the suckers off so that you do not have so much green growth. It is also good to change the location of your plants from one year to the next.
