How to fix a hole in my bathroom door?

When my mother passed away I inherited her 1 bedroom co-op apartment. The door to the bathroom has a hole that looks like someone kicked it. It is a hollow door and I live on a fixed income. Can the door be repaired?

Condolences on the passing of your mother. You could use a wood putty and smooth and then paint over, or replacement of a hollow door is relatively inexpensive as well.
Interior hollow doors are very inexpensive, I would replace it. You can even go to Habitat for Humanity ReStore and buy a used one for $10 or so.

I would go to a Habitat Re-store. They have lots of doors that are every inexpensive.
Thank to all for answering my question. I am going to first try repairing the door and hope to do a good job. If not then I will replace.

If the hole isn't large, try filling it wood wood filler - sand and repaint.
Cover the door with MDF and then paint.
