Quick upgrade to TINY kitchen?

check out a few camping units on line as well, many manufactures will post a floor plan of the unit, kitchen included. you want to use the items that have multiple functions, you really don't need a rice cooking unit, it can be done on a stove top. not that you may have a rice cooker- its just an example.

This can be a real challenge. I would start by taking everything that is not nailed down out. Clear out everything so you can see the "footprint". Now think of the function of the room. Is it the light in the room that needs an update, would new painted walls make the space feel bigger?

When I get stuck, I go to my magazines. I choose things from pictures that I like, it doesn't have to be a whole room. Just something you would like in your room. Take these ideas and see if you can rework your space.

What are the dimensions, is there a window and where, doorways into and out of kitchen? Pictures would also help. Post them and we'll be better able to help you. And is there somewhere else ti move the 100 year old buffet? Maybe to another part of the room?

Thanks for the info...The only 2 windows and old school ironing board in between are less then 12' from the neighbor. The reason we were unable to get a garden window according to our village. I have checked and checked in magazines delivered, all kitchens have a much larger foot print. The people that originally built the home had in 1929 a wood stove hooked to the fireplace chimney which is also in the room as an odd corner. How they managed with 8 kids I will never know. We are the 3rd family to own home since built. We removed the swinging oak door from living to dining room years ago. I am shocked the door was not torn up, but in mint condition downstairs in basement. Original owners had an "ice box" as there is a hole in the floor where our frig stands now, and piping to basement. in the 60's the 2nd family used plywood to make cheap cabinets with a drop down. But they did not remove a full bank of cabinets, drawers etc that make a WONDERFUL easy to pack full with everything we need. They are flush with stairway wall. Under the plywood cabinets is the largest cast iron radiator in history...Strange since there was floor board water heating in the '60's. We will need to rip our entire sink out just to have our plumber help us remove the radiator. This is the only area in the house where we could put a dish washer. Well, life goes on, and money being saved again. Our children have bad insurance, and both got major illnesses in the same year. Just the Co pay for each was 12K. I cannot tap into our 401K's for another 3 1/2 years Phooey. I will just get rid of the husband one day, and sit on the floor and stare....I cook every meal, unlike the youngsters. Real food even while working a split type shift at a TV station. Cannot sell house without figuring this one out. WHITE for sure!!!!! Ceramic paints especially on ceiling. They are washed every 90 days because I cook. Paint is expensive, but so worth it. Now back to contemplating this 9' x 9' kitchen :) Thanks for the info.
