We wanted to re-do our closet so we can double the space for clothes that needs to be hung, and also have some shelves for folded clothes/shoes.
Need some suggestions, thank you.

Go to Lowes, HD, or another store and check out all of their closet organization systems.

Cindy Hagemann, those closets are so attractive! But what active lady has those few clothes? And Carolyn.tinoco indicates there are two of them sharing a closet. I definitely recommend two levels of hanging clothes, tops on top, pants, skirts and shoes below. Dresses or other Long items could go at the end with the tails hanging in front of or in back of the lower rod. Shoes logically go on the floor, but they can be stacked in boxes toward the back of the closet floor. Shoes worn daily can be right up front. My husband refuses to get rid of shoes. I put all the pairs that were dusty in separate Walmart bags, hung the bags on separate hangers, and hung the hangers on the lower rod. In six months, he has only opened one bag to get the shoes. Carolyn—purge, purge, purge. You won’t need near as much room. If you don’t want to get rid of the clothes that don’t fit, need repairs, or are rarely worn, put them all in sealed boxes. Label and date the boxes. Put them in the attic, basement, garage or other storage area. If you have not retrieved clothing from the boxes in six months, take them all to Salvation Army, Goodwill or another resale shop as a donation, boxes unopened. Of other things in your closet, if you don’t use or wear them in the next 6 months (or the last six months), get rid of them. ☺️

I redid my neighbor's closet for her,,,, its about 8' long. I got 2 kitchen cabinets free took off the doors and painted them white, inside and out, and made extra shelves for them, stacked and screwed them on top of each other. Added a long metal rod from side of the top kitchen cabinet to the opposite wall. Had a white melamine shelf 12" side cut the width of the closet from the stacked cabinets to the opposite wall using a couple shelf brackets on the cabinet side and the opposite wall. Set it a couple inches above where I hung a second lower rod for folded pants on hangers from the side of the cabinet to the opposite wall. The long shelf is used for shoes. the 2 cabinets are for folded sweaters and T-shirts.

There are indeed a lot of way to organize a closet. We recently moved to Florida and I ended up getting a “system” From Home Depot. One wall has double rods, the other has one high rod for longer clothing and a small chest and shoe rack to the bottom left. Fortunately, we have his and hers matching walk ins. His s Little smaller, but did same for him.
