My "new" Brick Wall

When we bought the big yellow house, the kitchen had a false wall in the kitchen that resembled a fireplace. I could barely wait to see what was underneath it. Fourteen months later I finally tore it down and love the look in the kitchen now!
This was right after tearing off some of the sheet rock. My home was built in 1853 and there have been many additions to it since then. This was at one point the back of the house until the addition of an "indoor" kitchen. Underneath is what I think at one point was a root cellar. Now it's just a creepy basement.
There were traces of beige paint and a lot of this green paint. There was also lots of horrible glue all over it so I'm not done yet. Meanwhile, the cover up there actually vents inside the fireplace so maybe one day I can have a wood stove in here?
I had thought about leaving some of the paint on the bricks, but it was too hard to work my little jackhammer around the glue and leave some nice spots so it all had to go.
This is what it looks like on the opposite side in the living room. Well, umm, it's what it looked like in the fall.
And this is what it looks like in the kitchen now! So much better than that false wall!
