Don't remove it. Repair that damage. Use a razor to cut as much of the loose piece off as you can. Glue down the rest. After the glue has dried, use exterior caulking and fill in the space until it's level with the existing melamine. Use thin layers and let it dry in between. Make sure the caulk is level and smooth. Then paint with a paint that adheres to plastic. Poof! New kitchen.
Thank you! The paint really will adhere to that cover?? Mine is coming up in many places. Same cabinets in kitchens and bathroom! If I do decide that I want to remove it, any ideas how to do and level of work involved??
