I have an old vinyl bathroom floor but cannot afford a new tile floor. What can I do instead?

Check the home stores and see what you can find on clearance. Or, if you have a habitat for humanity re-store near you, you can usually find extremely cheap tiles

even the DOllar Store has stick on tiles...not bad either ! Family Dollar, not Dollar Tree

I would discourage you against spending any money on Dollar Store low quality tiles. Read some of the postings here on Hometalk from others who have wasted their money with this scheme, only to get frustrated with problems due to not sticking, curling, cracking, etc.

Sometimes do not get what you do not pay for.

You can paint and stencil the floor

Check with local floor covering stores as well as Home Depot & Lowe's for "remnant" pieces of nice good quality vinyl flooring. They sell these remnant pieces "cheap". Bathrooms are usually small & require only small pieces. Go armed with measurements to find a suitably sized piece. Installing this is usually very easy & it's a smart cheap way to update with high quality floor covering.

Measure and purchase a few bath rugs that will cover most of the floor.
