When I plant green pepper seeds I get chillies, why is that?

    Sweet bell pepper seed is available. Most seed packs I’ve seen for peppers have a scale on the pkg. mild to hot. Sweet bells are the lowest on the list..habinaro are towards the top for hot. Now....peppers can cross pollenate....keep your sweet peppers away from the hot ones.

    If the plant is a hybrid, you may get the parent plant from the seeds of that pepper. Heirloom plants you get exactly what you had. I would get your soil checked. If it isn't healthy, you may get different shaped fruit that are stunted also.
