How do I turn an exhaust fan into a skylight?

I’m having a 3in1 heating lamp installed in the bathroom. When it was built they put the exhaust fan above the shower, I’d like to remove the old fan & install a sky/sun light. Any ideas out there? Thanks in advance.

a solar tube might be what you need. I had one installed at house no. 1. Gave off so much light my friend who was up to visit wanted to know where the light switch was. Big box diy carried them. From the inside it looks like a regular light fixture.

Should work... AND there will be no electricity above an area that has water... the two do not mix well... and the old fan would probably not meet building codes today.

The building is only 10 yrs old but, design is a bit stupid lots of wasted space when the front bedroom could be larger. Plus the cabinets are below the waist & have a shelf in them, you can’t even store a shampoo bottle in there! The bathroom is the worst of designs in this small 2 bedroom cottage

You do need an exhaust fan in your bathroom to help with the moisture. I haven't seen any exhaust fans that were made to be installed in a shower, so yes, get that out of there. I have installed this fan in about 12 bathrooms already. It's really awesome.

As for a skylight, you really have to be careful. When put in an existing roof, they tend to leak, no matter who puts them in.

Think long and hard about putting a hole in your roof. Gaskets dry out and will leak and the heat may be more intense than you anticipated.

I have bathroom that is about 60 years old. No exhaust fan when built, still one. Paint is great, no problems. But a sky light not a good idea.
