These cute modern candleholders are easy to make. I love the way that they use an organic, every day item as the mold for the candleholder.

Tuck a few on a shelf or in a bare nook and cranny, or gift to friends for unique home décor gifts.

Supplies for Mini Concrete Candleholders

Supplies are what you might have from other craft projects or outdoor projects already. A little bit of concrete or sand, wire, and crafting tools, such as craft pliers, including cutting, looping and flat nose.

Mix concrete and sand together with water.

Concrete is poured into an egg shell.

A piece of rolled cardboard will help to create a hole for the candle to be inserted.

When the concrete is dry in less than 24 hours, the mini candleholder base is ready. The next step is to add a wire ring base so that it lays flat on a shelf or table.

16 gauge craft wire (choose any color you would like) is rolled into a coil.

Then the coil is stretched upwards to create a base for the concrete shell.

Customize the candleholders with paint if you would like, or with different colors of wire for the base.

I'm not sure about oiling the eggshell. Do you think it would stain the concrete? It would still look good but just a different look.

    Hi,

You say 16 gauge wire in your directions, but say 18 gauge wire in your suggested materials. What do you think works best? Katie
