Every morning I have fine sheetrock crumbs on the top of my stove. There is no trace of anything in the cupboards. How do I find out what it is without tearing down all my wall cupboards?

It might possibly be termites. I would call a company that can diagnose your issue...such as Terminex or some other bug removal company. Sometimes they will make an appraisal of the premises, then offer their services which you may or may not use. You can get more than one bid or quote for remedying whatever the situation might be.

Are there any critter droppings, such as mice? To put your mind at ease, call in the professionals, they have seen it all and have entomologists at their disposal.

This may sound weird, but do you find more crumbs when it is windy? I have found that when the wind blows hard it will send seeds I have put out for the birds (thistle) down through my hood vent to my stove top.
