How can I replace the fabric on the bottom of my 3-seat porch swing?

Due to weather the fabric has ripped. I don't want to disassemble the metal parts of the swing. Last year I replaced the top shade covering and made new cushions for the swing but I'm at a loss to know how to fix this problem.

Thanks, Janet. If I get ambitious to the point of taking it apart, this will work.

I confess to being lazy and simplistic. depending on how your swing is constructed. I’d get a couple of pieces of foamcore from the dollar store. I’d secure them lengthwise as needed with duct tape, likely adding a few pieces of wood, like shims, to restrict their movement. Get some fabric and staple/glue it to one side. Attach to underside of your swing with metal screws or glue or numerous zip ties, or colorful cord.

You can cut the existing fabric off and use it as a pattern for a new one, but I am concerned about how you are going to put it back on the swing without taking it apart since the only way I know of is to hand sew--- and that doesn't sound safe. The reason I say this is because you'd need to use such tiny hand stitches to connect the pieces to make it strong that I think you'd need a sewing machine. Which means you would need to take the bottom section apart so you can slide the finished fabric back onto the swing.
