Japanese beetle invasion. What do I do?

Buy Japanese Beetle traps. They really work.

Japanese beetles are the adult versions of what is commonly called a 'grub'. I would use a pesticide on the lawn and around the problem spots that professes to kill grubs on the label. Kill the larvae and adults won't form.

Make make sure when you buy the beetle traps that you put them away from your house because it attracts beetles also

It can take some time for the milky spore to become effective.

You might want to consider that as you wait for your milky spore protection.

Hello. They lay there eggs in the soil so they end up hatching the next year. I flick them off every day. It works but is annoying. Every year I get less and less. I wouldn't use a trap. It just attracts more. They let off a pheromone so more come. Good Luck!

The Japanese beetle traps work well, they have a pheromone above the bag and the beetles are drawn to it, they fly to and go into the bag to never come out again. Hang this setup far away from your plants you are protecting. After they die you can shake them out and they are reabsorbed into the environment. Going full circle.
