I would stick to white or something neutral since the kitchen is so busy already.

You could pick a couple of colors and do horizontal stripes, if you're into stripes. I would paint a backsplash on there. The possibilities when painting are endless. Check out backsplash on Hometalk. I love the new stick on tiles, but hate the fact that when I pull them off after I stop loving the look, some of my drywall will come off with it.

I like it the way it is. Perfect color. Solid wall breaks up the "busy" areas. I wouldn't do a thing..

I would go with a tile backsplash. Something very plain, there are enough patterns in your kitchen. Maybe something like the ones below. There are a lot of online tile stores. Order samples and put them around to see what you like best. Whatever you choose, remember to seal it. That will make it easier to keep clean.

personally I think your cabinets would look nice all one color

I would keep any backsplash real simple and solid color to prevent making it any busier.... like white beadboard or subway tile, depending on the color of that small lip, you might do copper sheeting if it goes with the countertop.

Glass subway tile is considered "hot" now. It comes in various sizes and colors. You can get an idea by looking at tile places online, or if you like this kind of thing, you can go look for options at local wall and floor tile stores.

If you want decoupage to continue in your kitchen you could do some on the reverse side of glass. This decoupage was done for a blank wall beside my sink. But it could easily be done as a backsplash and would be very inexpensive, just the glass and the paint. The elements can be found in magazines or calendars. Unusual and very easy to keep clean.

right now the only thing I would change is the trim around your window. Paint it one of your darker tans, like the “camel.”. The white doesn’t fit the fun.

Be cautious about anything that creates more vertical lines above your riser section (behind sink, stove area), because it could make it appear even " busier".

Keep it solid, as well, or it will visually compete with your countertops.

Lighter colors will better reflect light onto work areas.
