I have a small dog that likes to eat my cat's food.. found a fairly strong box with a square cut out on one side, turned it upside down, put cat's food/water on top and put a small rug or blanket inside the cutout, cat loves it, dog can't reach food!
We use kids changing table in basement to put 6 feeding dishes on for 7 cats & another one for our almost 15 yr old to sleep in. It has doors on bottom & we keep one door shut & other door open. He moved to basement in may last yr will not come back up stairs. Water bucket up stairs for cats, one in kitchen for dogs & cats & 1 in basement . my chiwennie jumps up on boxes & shelves to get to cat food. We just put it on top & 2nd shelf.
