    Don’t do it. If you have it, get rid of it. If you insist, keep it very simple. Watch videos and ask experts—at the paint stores and departments. ☺️

    Not sure what you are planning. Do you want to texture, remove texture? Generally, these days textured ceilings are no longer the norm and will make your home appear dated.

      Gina, here's a link with instructions and pics of how to go about removing the popcorn ceiling material.
      and also a youtube video about doing this. And yet another video about how to texture a ceiling using a roller.
      I have removed popcorn and then smoothed the ceiling with a sandinig block on an extension type stick and then painted but never done the texture after remvoing the popcorn.
      Some texture might be cool and add a bit of interest. Afterall, it is your home and you get to choose the finishes! Hope this helps.....it is a LOT of work but I began to Detest that Popcorn!! :) Probably just as you are with yours about now! :) Happy D-I-Y-ing

    My sister did my kitchen ceiling with spackling she put about 3 foot by 3 foot and took a trowel and just spread it around to make a pattern
    , It was very easy I hope you enjoy it just keep going till you re finished good luck
