I just took up a hobby. I sit in a hospital a lot so I needed to be able to keep my mind and hands busy while waiting.
Last Christmas my daughter and I started learning how to crochet. Even though she lives in Colorado and I am in Florida we would video or FaceTime and work on projects together.
This is my third little magic blanket . The stitch is beautiful, however I couldn’t get it to square up. I really like the stitch, so will see if I can work another blanket using that stitch.
This blanket is my first corner to corner ! Huge success. Now I’m willing to make something more advanced . Ha ha. I used Caron cakes what a fun skein of yarn. Four makes a nice size blanket.
A pinwheel . I worked on this for months and then it just clicked ! I only have thirty so more blocks to do on this project. Not sure what yarn I am using here. Can’t seem to find anymore.
This one is my pride and joy. It doesn’t look like much but keep looking at the pictures.
This is called a virus blanket . I am making this for my grand daughter. I like how girly it is. Bright and cheery .
This is the completed blanket. It’s 43 inches by 43 inches including the border. This was made with Caron Cakes as well very berry or Bumbleberry. For my little 4 year old grand daughter should love how bright it is.
Here you can see the pretty border. The reason I call them Magic blankets instead of an Afghan is because my family is in Colorado while I’m in Florida, so if you lay it on your lap it warms you, if you put your fingers in the holes and wrap it around you , you get a hug from me. Hence the magic blanket.

Where can I find pattern at?

  • Mia Mia on Apr 24, 2019

In the very first photo there is an interesting looking teal/turquoise pattern that I don't see named. If I missed it I apologize, but do you have a link to what that pattern is?

I like all of your magic blankets. I have made them for my Mom , sister, brother, daughter, son, and all 5 of my grandchildren. But i just called them afghans but i like your meaning of the Magic Blankets. I was taught a few basic stiches but not how to read a patern, so I've always made up my own patterns. I am trying to learn to learn the patterns. I also made one for myself. One year I made everyone scarves for Christmas. I enjoy making things for my family and they are all made with Love.

Thank you. They sure make great gifts. I can’t read a pattern very well. I learn by going to YouTube. Some I make up as well.
