Looking for affordable option for winter inserts for out screened patio windows. Each window is approximately 45” x 50”. We live in the mountains at 3100’. Plexiglass is rather expensive.

3M and other companies offer exterior window film “(very upgraded plastic wrap) that you cut to size and double-face tape to each window. Works great.

I suppose you could trash-pick old aluminum screen frames and put this stuff in and then Use “double wing clips” around the window to secure them for the winter. My parents old cabin had wood-framed window with hinges at the top, held to the ceiling when not in use with hooks and eyes. Great too for drenching rainy days so you only folded down the ones to keep from getting wet
