DIY Spring Chargers for Your Table

Doing tablescapes is fun, and I have a lot of chargers in various colors, but I don’t have anything light for spring. While at the thrift store, I couldn’t resist this set of ragged looking chargers, four for $2. I really liked the detail on them, and knew I could use them to get the color I could not find for spring.

Start with a set of chargers for the table that have seen better days. The ones I used had been previously painted.

Clean them up, using a steel wool pad if needed to remove any old paint. It may not be possible to get every little detail completely clean of old paint, but that won't matter when they are painted. Just be sure to get off as much as you can.

Using very light coats, spray paint with the color of your choice. I used a creamy butter yellow. Allow to dry 30 minutes to one hour between coats. Use 3-4 coats of paint, as needed for even coverage.

When the final coat is done, allow to dry thoroughly overnight.

Enjoy! To see the Spring Chickens Tablescape using them, visit my blog URL below. The post contains a link to the full step by step for the chargers as well.
