Does anybody know how to safely replant young clematis? It's been in the ground (in the big pot to be precise) for over a month.I'm moving houses and I would like to take clematis with me.
Thanks

Your clematis has really had no time to get established so I would not worry one bit about digging it up and putting in a smaller pot to move, if moving it in the large pot it is in is not feasible.

i chopped mine down to about three inches high and lifted it then replanted and it grew to be happy healthy and full size very quickly, my rabbit almost ate all of it so i had no choice but it grew back fine very healthy

Dig deep to get all of the root and just plant. I do it all the time. Good luck..

I just dug mine up when i moved. Dug around more then i needed to and deep put it in a bag and came to the new house and put it in the ground. It was bigger and better last year from spring to fall.Good luck happy planting.

Clematis like to have their "feet" covered so when you replant it, be sure to plant a lower growing plant in front of it.
