While you're Spring cleaning, why not clean your hairbrush too? All you'll need is a few household items to have new looking brushes again. Visit our blog for step by step instructions on how I cleaned my brush the easy way.
The after picture that I love because its so different from what it looked like before cleaning.
The before picture that is so YUCKY! This is what happens when you use products in your hair though!
Clean the brush really well of hair and debris and rinse with warm water.
Sprinkle the baking soda on and then drizzle the vinegar on. Wait for the bubbles to stop, then scrub a bit.
Fill a dish with a few drops of dish soap and warm water and let them soak for about 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water again.
Squeeze excess water out of brush if needed and lay on a towel with bristles down to dry. Tah Dah! You know have a new brush again!

    I have been known to throw my hair brushes and combs in with a load of laundry that they won't snag on. It's always worked for me.

      @Debbied That's a good idea, I've thought of that!

    I was a tad surprised that you would wait for 'spring' to clean your hairbrushes. After all, there could be dandruff, a build up of hair products, dust etc.. I clean mine every week. And daily any hair that is in the brush/s I comb out. I just soak them in a solution of dishwashing liquid, and a bit of cleaning vinegar, and leave for an hour or so. Comb out any hair that is there, and then rinse and put in the sun to dry. I don't think its very hygenic to leave cleaning for such a long time; after all you would be just putting dandruff, dead hair, product buildup back into your hair. Anyway, that's what I do.
