I live in zone 8a for gardening. Can I grow jasmine plants and vines
Hi everyone I live in zone 8a for gardening and would like to grow jasmine plants and vines, is this possible? If not, does anyone know how to grow jasmine indoors?
I went to the planting zone map and not knowing where you live, I did see that AZ is one of those states with a big mix of zones...so you need to google the "planting Zone Map" and find your location.
Then go to your local nursery and investigate plants.
Annual plants last 1 season; perennials come back every year...with some multiplying.
We who live in wetter areas tend to thing "very dry" when we think of AZ. Design and plant with water restrictions in mind. And in some areas of the West there are restrictions on WHAT you can plant.
A yard does not have to be a large expanse of grass to be beautiful!!!

Am a "Zonie" that has happily been here 20+ years. Like the previous helpful Hometalkers find your zone. When living in Phoenix area you especially have to watch heat from sun movement, but plenty of water there. Just moved to northwest corner where water is limited. We all have big water tanks. If you're wanting veges, peppers, tomatoes, zucs and cucs need full sun. Leaf lettuce, spinach, radishes, onions won't need full sun. For plants keep your eyes open and get to know neighbors with gardens, they'll talk. Best to you in Our diverse and beautiful state, Klaudia
Don't try to landscape your yard as if it were in a more temperate state. Plant things that will do well in AZ. Native plants and cacti. Fill in with gravel and rocks. Your local nursery should be able to help you, and you will save yourself a bundle on watering, not to mention losing all the plants if there is a prolonged dry spell and watering is restricted.
