How do I keep gophers from digging in my flower beds w/o using poison?

I have this motion activated sprinkler that works great.

They have several kinds in different price ranges, but this is the one I use to keep my peafowl out of my gardens. I had read in the reviews that it worked for small furry pests also.

The second part of this article may be helpful, I tried the caster oil..it didn't work. I was also told that if you dig the hole a bit deeper than you need for the plant and add fine gravel in the hole that might protect the root and bulbs. Hope it helps (I plant a larger flower pots in the ground these never get removed, add gravel, then put my annuals into a smaller pot than what is in the ground, but big enough for the plant to have room to grow, into the larger pot) Good luck

Try installing a wind mill. The vibrations will scare them away for the area.

Mothballs will keep them away.

The windmill trick works, but be sure to get one that makes a clicking sound - I use the shiny foil ones they sell for children which have a little extra bit that clicks as the pinwheel turns - keeps them away from areas I don't want them. Or get traps you can place in their tunnels (one way doors) doesn't kill them.

Rat Trap!

If you or if you know anyone who has snakes, (or are near a serpentarium) keep the skin when they shed and place a good long piece in each in hole. They won't be back. Tried and true!
