white vinegar
You may be using too much detergent. Vinegar in the rinse (instead of fabric softener), will take care of that.
Pay VERY close attention to how much you use, also the hardness of your water. We have never had the problem, but use totally soft water, and the "minimum" line on the liquid detergent bay of the washer. even less for small loads.
I use less than half of the recommended amount. Years ago a plumber told me that the reason they say to use so much is that you have to purchase the product more frequently. My clothes always come out clean...if you have a tough stain, always pre-treat before washing.
White vinegar and baking soda. Put clothes in the machine sprinkle with baking soda . Pour vinegar in the soap dispenser and the softener tray. Run a regular cycle with extra rinse.
