Can a tree, planted 18 months ago, be dug up and moved?

    Hi Linda, if the tree is in good shape it can be moved. Key here is to do it in really late fall and take AS MUCH dirt around the tree as possible, the more dirt you take with you when you move it the more protected the roots are.

    Hi! It does depend on the type of tree as to how much recovery time, but generally yes. It will definitely show some drooping and leaf damage initially, but most trees will survive just fine if re-planted correctly.

    Providing it is still dormant you can transplant it .
