Is it Laminate? Try a varathane spray paint. Sand the surface with low texture sanding paper. Use a spray varathane primer. then spray the varathane over primer. I dont recommend painting a kitchen counter for durability purposes.

I have a few ideas and suggestions on this, but could you tell me what surface you have now as a countertop?

echoing previous answer....the countertop gets a lot of wear and tear, thumps, scrapes, spills, cleansers...perhaps if you coated the paint with a protector: glass top, or resin coating for example.

Go to this site..... Daischcoatings.com. I have done this with several properties I have flipped. It looks really nice and professionally done. Costs less than a hundred dollars complete! Spreadstone--many colors to choose from-and no skill needed and very little prep at all. Quick to use so you can get back to using the counters.

i used stonecoatcountertops.com on I piece of black granite cutting board. I did it in a copper color and love it! It is like glass! You can also put veins in them! To do our entire kitchen it will cost about $450 compared to replacing the counters that would be about $6k and it is easy to use. They have many colors!
