Laminate or Vinyl planking as long as the ceramic floor is level

You could put in floating laminate or engineered wood flooring or carpet for a couple ideas.

l have owned flooring stores. The only thing you can do properly over the ceramic is a floating floor which is most commonly laminate. which is available in many looks. You could do a loose lay of carpet or a glue down, but the high lows of tile could telegraph through the carpet if glued direct. To actually install carpet normally, you have to put down tack strip that would have to be gunned into the floor. If you want to use more options, you can put down a new subfloor or skimcoat the ceramic you have.

I like the idea of the floating floor. Will probably go that route. Thanks all!!
