white. I would like newer black handles but these have front mounted handles as they are very old. It is difficult to locate front mounted handles. I would like to do something to kind of update the handles. Any suggestions? Thanks

If you can take the handles off they can be spray painted

I am assuming that the handles you have now mount by attaching the screws from the front of the cabinet, and the screw heads show. Could you post a picture of the handles that you have now, as other Hometalkers might not be familiar with what front-mounted means?

What is the measured width between the centre of the screw holes?

If the measurement is standard between the screws, then it will be fairly easy to replace them with back-mounted handles.

How thick are the cabinet doors? You should be able to install updated styles although you may need to buy extra long screws.

You can easily spray paint them. By taping of parts, you could get cool effects. Save lots of money.

paint them! I have successfully painted hinges and handles using either rustoleum spray paint or brush paint for metal.

  • hmmm, i had the same suggestion. since front mounted handles are hard to find.
