Drawing With A Glue Gun Makes Amazing Paintings.

So I saw an oil painting ... fell in love with it, but I knew I could never duplicate the painting. I held that memory of the piece and grabbed my trusty ole glue gun and begain to make a faux oil painting with it. The raised glue on the canvas makes it look so much more glam and rustic as well as amazing. You should try this. It would be fun for your daughters or sons bedroom as well.

Step 1 I decided to use an old blank canvas that had been painting over nearly a hundred times. Yes I believe in recycling. lol
Step 2 if you would like to sketch a rough draft you can, but I decided to free style it just me and the glue gun hand in hand moving about with squiggly lines to form a tree and many many branches.
Step 3 in between the branches I just squeezed tiny little glue dots all over to make it have a leaf like effect.
step 4 I took it outside and sprayed it a matalic silver using rustoleum spray paint. And I had an old can of gray varnish from a previous project and dapple all over with a paint brush. The varnish did vanish but it left really pretty dark gray patterns through out the painting for a more finish and professional look. I also used liquid gold leafing paint to highlight two trees to make them pop off the silver. Please check out the video for a quick 6 min walk through step by step.
And here is the final result. I absolutely love it. Doesn't it look like an oil painting. lol. Well it does look store bought almost. Anywho... thanks for checking it out and watching the video below.
