Use them as storage, paint them if you choose.

Depending on size...use them to store rolled up throw blankets, scarves, winter accessories, summer accessories, in the kitchen for tea towel storage, dishrag storage, oven mitts etc. in the laundry room to store mismatched socks or clothes that need mending. Store children’s books... flip them over and make/attach wooden top to make a cake stand/tea stand etc.

If you enjoy colors...you could cut strips of fabric in the colors you like and weave the strips around and thru the basket.. giving it a "rag" weave look.....

First, determine how you want to use them. They can be decorated by weaving fabric strips (old t-shirts) or plastic (grocery) bags through the spaces.

I would recommend putting fruit in them. Fruit baskets are practical and cute in a kitchen.

What about turning upside down, add a light kit ( they come with easy instructions ), adding 'edison' bulbs and hang them next to the bed, staggered over a table, a kitchen island or also staggered, over a chair or window seat for a reading light.

If you want to change them up as lamps add crystals, dangling or stationary, as others said weave fabric. Perhaps weave thinner wire through the openings and add beads as you go ( glass beads are pretty and there are so many colors and varieties out there )

extra rolls of TP in a bathroom. Ooh and fresh fruit for the kitchen. Or you would start rolling up sweaters to store away for the winter and put them up on your high shelf to make room for summer... its coming

Turn them side-ways and attach one above the wire shelving where you have them now. Attach the other beneath, both with strong plastic ties, like from bread bags. I’m not sure what room this is in, but in a guest bedroom the top basket could hold an extra set of sheets and pillowcases. The bottom could hold two towel sets for guests.

In a utility room, the top basket could hold rags and work gloves. The bottom could hold quite a few round cans and trigger bottles for cleaning supplies.

In the kitchen, you could stack potatoes in one, and tomatoes and corn on the cob or a cantaloupe, keeping them away from bananas. Another arrangement might be around apples, melons, grapes and peaches, with a pretty dishcloth as an anchor in each basket.

    Best wishes ☺️
