Hello Vickey! Typically, when folks have the need to grow grass in a shaded area, a special blend of grass is required. That’s because most grasses need full sunlight to thrive. There are companies however that make custom grass seeds and one of the companies is Pennington. You can look them up online and possibly either get some ideas how to successfully grow your grass in the shade or learn of some alternatives to growing regular grass seed in your shady area.
