Sadly, I'm not very good at needlework. So I put my embroidery hoop to new use by creating a wall pocket wreath to display some cheery flowers in my home! This wall pocket wreath can be hung on the wall, on your front door, or can be placed on a mantle. Although I used a round hoop for my wall pocket, you can also use a rectangular picture frame.
The materials for this project are pretty simple and basic. You'll need an embroidery hoop or wooden frame (a frame might stand better if you want to display your pocket on a mantle), some fabric, some artificial flowers or decorations, and some glue.
You'll need two pieces of fabric that are big enough to cover half of your hoop or frame with about 3 extra inches on both sides and on the bottom. I have more information about choosing and measuring your fabric for this project on my blog.
The top edge of your fabric should be finished with a clean edge. Mine didn't have a clean edge, so I finished it myself (you can find the directions for this on my blog). Then I added some ribbon for added detail.

Place your finished fabric between your inner and outer hoop and then tighten them together, keeping your fabric taut. If you want to use a frame instead, I have directions for stapling your fabric in place on my blog.
Once you've secured your fabric in your hoop or frame, trim your extra fabric and adhere it in back. Then you can begin to arrange your flowers or decorations between the two pieces of fabric that form your pocket.

Try not to fill it too much so that your pocket bulges out in the back, as it won't hang flat on the wall.
This wall pocket wreath is a quick, easy project that lets you switch out your flowers or decoration for different seasons and holidays. I hope you enjoy making your own!
