Squirrels: use blood meal sprinkled around the plants and put into the hole when planting bulbs. Deer: mix this concoction: 1 egg, 1 Tablsp. dish liquid, 1/2 cup milk, remainder water in a gallon jug. Spray on after each rain and will not hurt your plants.

Maybe some fencing around the plants would help. Something that's about a foot or so tall. Home Depot sells rolls of Rabbit Garden Fence. It's called allFENZ and comes in a lot of sizes, the smallest is 28 in. x 50 ft. and is about $17.00 Menards has 2' x 50' Rabbit Guard Garden Fence for $14.99 and a rebate - if it ever comes - of $1.65, final price of $13.34. Posts are $2.34 each.

Spray bottle with water, vinegar and hot sauce. Spray on the leaves and the animals will leave them alone! We use it on our tomatoes, carrots, peas and green beans...lots of rabbits in our neighborhood.

Just know that those squirrels are very inventive and inquisitive:) Usually they don't eat the veggies, they just rampage through the garden:) Put some nuts in another area for them to take their attention away.
