Is it best to prewash Baby Quilts using flannel?

I was taught to sew at a very young age. The first thing Mom told me was to WASH and DRY any fabric you are going to wash and dry after it has been sewn. That way any shrinking and twisting and otherwise messing up is done before you put your many hours of work into it. Another thing, if the fabric is faulty you can get your money back, but they won't pay for your time.

Yes!!! If the flannel is 100% cotton, you absolutely have to wash it in hot water first to shrink it before you sew with it.

Always pre wash any fabric you sew with, some colors may bleed exsess dye. Some may shrink. There are “color catchers“ on the market, if you don’t know if the color

will run throw one in the wash.

Yes, throw the fabric in the wash before you but it. Flannel tends to unravel on the ends so you want to limit that as much as possible.
