Plant suggestions for sloping hill that kills weeds & is noninvasive?

Pachysandra is the best ground cover that grows quickly, once established, is deer-proof, and practically indestructible. It is difficult to control, however, but it will take years to get out of control. If it is close to a lawn, you can just mow the edge, dig a trench or use edging to create a border, or use a weedwacker.

Any kind of fast spreading ground cover is going to be somewhat invasive if you don't trim it or add some kind of border that can keep the roots from spreading. That's the nature of fast spreading ground cover. It doesn't know that you want it to stop. We do have some around the base of a tree but we put RR ties in a box around it that is half buried and the Pachysandra does stay inside the box. We do watch it and if something starts to spill over we cut that back immediately. No plant is really plant it and forget it because it's a living thing. Wishing you the best.

Pachysandra is great, it stays green all winter in most places . It's not fast growing, takes about 3 years to fully establish. You can plant it closer together to get it full quicker. As long as you edge it with a barrier, It's easy to contain and it looks really pretty when established. I've even used the leaves in flower arrangements as fillers and it looks really good. You can root startings in water easily.
