With the trees starting to bud, is it to late to trim them back?

That depends on the type of tree, does it bloom, where you are located. Perhaps you could do a Google search for your specific tree...or trees. Good luck.

Depends on the type of tree but my husband tends to trim our trees all year long, a little at a time, and they do fine.

If you are trimming, do so selectively so not all the buds are cut off. Usually trees hold up to trimming anytime as long as it is not too severe

I would not attempt to prune the trees now. Depending on what trees you are referring to ,you should not just go out and prune....timing ,temperature etc.are very important
