Slide one grate into the 1-gallon bag. Pour half cup of ammonia in the bag. Let sit for about eight hours. After that time, don your gloves and scour the grate. Rinse with water and dry with a paper towel. Grime all gone! Good luck!

If removable,soak in vinegar and hot water
If they are just greasy with nothing burned on, I run them thru the dishwasher
I put mine in the dishwasher with the dishes.
