I have a small 15x15 bedroom in our 1940 home which means VERY TINY CLOSET! I have two dresser, wardrobe and two other small pieces. Arranging furniture, because of door/window placement is limited! Moved king size bed into corner at angle and love! All pieces are old family pieces, dark stain. Bed is black iron w antique gold color in creases ( called antique gold bed but solid black). I want to chalk/milk paint all but the bed, but can't decide which to do much less the color. Walls are a muted soft yellow, white trim and sage (?)green carpet. Any suggestions?? Two smaller pieces are a bedside table my brother made in wood shop-35yrs ago, and jewelry armoire. Ideas???
Bed(love my sock monkey!)I l like a romantic -whimsical look.

The king size bed takes a lot of room. We build a bench set under the window and built in storage cabinets under the seat. Along the walls we built floor to ceiling storage cabinets and op;en shelving on the top. It did not take any space not used, put in crown molding to tie it all in. We also had the carpenter, (finish carpenter) hand build a standing Armour. If your not sure on the paint, I assume you want to brighten the room? Soft pastels, and depending how much you want or can spend, even a wooden floor may brighten and soften it up to go with the wooden furniture.

I love what ^John^ did and if possible use those ideas. But painting your dark furniture (except the piece your brother made) would lighten the room.

I want to paint it all. Only one is what I'd consider an antique. No chance on building, hubby's not a craftsman. :-/

@Mitziblueyes Not a builder, no problem, use ready made cabinets. Can put an upper cabinets made for over the range under your window, Put as many as needed under the window to make the window seat. Put a piece of thick plywood on top for the seat. This can be covered with material and a cushion if you didn't want to attach the plywood. to the cabinets. Use bookcases or small pantries for the end pieces.

3 feet. The cabinet below the window was low enough the custom cushions

worked great. We had JC Penny do the cushions, pillows, and the cover for the bed with the matching pillow throws. They also did the window covering. It works for us. Hint is don't scrimp on contractors or material. Remember you get what you pay for.
