Need a fence for my dogs?

I am living in a rental house and desperately need a fence to accommodate my dogs. I am about to have major back surgery and need creative ideas to be able to let my dogs out and not worry about having to bend over and most importantly them not get hurt. Right now we use a tie out, but once I have surgery that is gonna be rough on me bending over.

We made a fence with 2x4’s and rollout fencing pinched in between. Check a farm store for fencing.

Gundogsupply.com has tall stakes which you put in the ground. The top rotates 360 degrees. Buy as much chain as your yard allows for each dog, but only allow minimal interaction so they don’t get tangled.

These are the sort of stakes Alaskan dog mushers use when they have 20 dogs.

With a bit of creativity you can figure out how to do this more cheaply. It’s not a fence, but it is some freedom for the dogs. they say it takes a few days for the dogs to adapt, but they do, and they can frolic

I guess it may depend too on what size dogs you have and will they attempt to jump, go under or go through the fence. I love going on pinterest to look for fencing ideas - there are so many ideas out there depending on your needs.

turkey wire and stakes are fairly cheap and can be taken down easily. I feel for you..I have 4 dogs but thank GOD I have 6 ft fencing and it's my home.

I agree a farm supply should beable to help. It depends on size of the dogs and if they are diggers.

    Good luck with your surgery.

Put a hook up high, and attach them to that

  • the best easiest fence is not one at all.. Electronic fencing is something you can move later and works great with just one weekend of working with the dog. and a one time expense.

By a vinyl fence high enough so the dogs don't jump it. I think you can go to 6 ft. Make sure you have someone to walk your dogs after surgery.

i bought lovely ornamental fence at Lowe’s ( maybe Home Depot?) to fence an area outside my screen porch. A pack of 2 sections were $20.00. Two sections at 8’ each pack. Metal, just push in the ground. They are maybe 3 1/2 ft high. they look great and are inexpensI’ve.
