Try a damp towel and a steam setting on your iron.

icecube as Lynn has suggested. In addition a wide tooth comb to lift the fibers and allow to dry. We use a wide tooth dog comb.

Mist lightly with water, brush with a stiff brush and vacuum.

Spray with water and baking soda. Use a soft toothbrush to fluff up the nap. Repeat. If the rug gets very wet, use a blow dryer or vacuum to dry or absorb as much as you can. Then fluff again. This may take an hour. Use gliders for rugs under furniture legs, larger than usual, to prevent more dints which could lead to holes in the rug. ☺️
