Alarm cover

We do not use this alarm system, but we still have these boxes in several rooms. What can we do to cover them up? We do not want to paint the room now.
Thanks.

If you don't use it, why not have it "uninstalled"?

Canvas pictures that have a deep enough hollowed back will cover them.

  • If it were me, I would remove them, patch and paint.

If you have no intention of using the alarms, turn of the electricity and pull them from the wall. Clip all the wires and cap then with wire caps. Tuck anything left into the wall if you can. Then gently sand any built up paint. You can repair the holes in the wall with a kit and paint; you can just paint the area, leaving the holes; you can hang a picture or mirror to cover up the scar. Best wishes ☺️

If you do not use the system, take them down.

Maybe a shadow box without the back, using a print in the front of the frame. Maybe a canvased print big enough to engulf the unit.

We bought a house and have been remodeling and we did the living room rustic! And then the thermostat box stuck out like a sore thumb! So I went to pat catans and bought an unstained wood box and cut a hole so the box fit over the thermostat! Works great! We have no issues with the temp being red when the box is closed! It is very thin wood.

I'd remove the cover. I bet the hole in the wall is small. I'd push the wires inside and spackle over the hole, then just repaint where you spackled and sanded.
